An interesting story about Gen Xer's & Hotels

This story caught my attention because hotels are changing their ways for a younger trendy growd, of sorts. If you want to more follow this link to the story.

If are interested in PHP.... you might like this story.

I found this story interesting about Big Blue and PHP. Well, now there is another way to create back end applications for websites and such. But hey more options of using PHP and the embrace of PHP by IBM which could be a good thing, maybe, over time.

Wired News: Quit Your Job to Blog, Blog, Blog

I saw this story through My Yahoo, and I thought this interesting and share it with other's who are reading this blog. This story is 2 pages long, and tells you how to make a living by having ads on your blog, etc. The person who is the focus of this story is one of a few people who are quiting their jobs and blogging on a full time regular basis. The reaction to this type change can vary, but then, I think it would get boring after while of just dong blogging all of time. This might be an interesting topic to talk about whether if its in a class room or else where. story link: http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,66679,00.html Later, Peter

Yahoo! News - Hotel to Open at Hitler's Alpine Retreat

This story Yahoo! News - Hotel to Open at Hitler's Alpine Retreat, for some reason strikes me wrong that a hotel company would turn something from a WWII era resort that Hitler used into a very high-class resort for the really rich folks who can afford the price for this place. But then I could try and see where many people of the Jewish faith could get really upset, I would too, to some degree. Its just that I knew someone from my childhood that belongs to the Jewish faith who came from a good middle class family (from what I remember, but I'm going back atleast 15 yrs or so) , and a typical American family. From knowing this person growing up, in a way sort of, to see where some people of the Jewish faith might not like this prospect of a hotel going into this location. Read the story to get the details before posting comments to this blog. Peter P.S. please try not to hold me to what I have said in this post, thanks. I might or will remove this post if there alot of negtive comments to this post.

usenet

I was looking at usenet groups today and it has been awhile since using usenets groups (like 6-7 yrs since my last use of usenet). Anyway's I found three that I got interested in, which are comp.lang.php, comp.sys.mac.apps, comp.text.xml. The first 2 groups are high in usage and comp.sys.mac.apps has a medium useage rate. Might use these usenet groups again.

IRC

I went to #php and #macosx on freenode and there were or are 355 users in #php and 114 users chating in #macosx. There is light chatting and both are generally on topic but chatting in #macosx chat room seems to be more informal and seems slightly off-topic to me anywany. The #php room would be more usefull to me in the future and the #macosx room not so much.

What appeals to you the most?

Hello all, below are links to blog's that caught my eye and were interesting enough to me to list them here. This is part of the homework for the class I'm enrolled in. There is another posting bellow, about Dunkin' Dounuts is also part of this assignment. One site D-SIGN I found interesting because it basically follows design of products. It's titled as Designers Blog. Basically, the contributors of this site comment on various images found on the internet or else where.
Type of blog: professional. If you like skateboarding you might like UK Skateboarding Association which caught my eye simply because it reminded me of a childhood friend that was into skateboarding, even though this site is intended for skater's in the U.K.
Type of blog: informational. Another site that caught my eye was for L.A. Observed laobserved.com. This site's main focus is on Los Angeles, CA., news and other interesting news tidbits happenings in L.A. Plus, it has lot's of links to other site's from political to other news site's.
Type of blog: informational news. This next blog I found sort of interesting because it's about the daily, well, not really daily (I think) about the happing's of a play director. This guy's site called my London Life show what it's like in a life of a (one) play director. I don't know how someone could have their routines known in this type of manner, but anyway to help in dealings in life I would suppose.
Type of blog: journal or dairy. ------------ Your comments are encouraged to this posting. Peter

All Things about Dunkin' Donuts...

I found a site devoted to Dunkin' Dounuts at All Things Dunkin' Donuts, and found it interesting. Why? You asking. I found it interesting because it's about a person who likes the coffee from Dunkin' Dounuts and who like's to do something in his spare time that the blog publisher enjoy's doing. It got started by a suggestion from a friend of this guy who runs it. As along you like doing something like this, then enjoy it while it would last. ---------------- This post is part of a home homework assignment for the class I'm enrolled in.
